Sun fading Tutorial
Sometimes you get pony with pen mark on them or the common pink marks. You scrub them and scrub them, but they just don’t come off. These types of spots are discoloring of the plastic.
People will use them as baits to customize or just sell them because they don’t look nice anymore.
This is my example of a NC/Spanish Lemondrop that has quite a few pink spots on her.

I thought it was a shame she had them. Her eyes were in perfect state the same as her symbols. So I looked on the internet to see if there was anything to do about this spots that aren’t removable.
That is how I found sun fading!
I have made a tutorial for you on how to sun fade your precious ponies.
Step 1:
The first step is of course find a pony to sun fade. I have already found one: my NC/Spanish Lemondrop above.
Step 2:
Protect the symbols and eyes. If you don’t protect the symbols and eyes they will sun fade too. This is not what you want of course.
So it is important that you cover them up.
For the symbols and eyes I like to use masking tape. The tape is highly removable because it is used on wallpapers. Because of this it is ideal for your pony. It will not leave any adhesive behind and because of the high removability it will not damage the paint.
Step 3:
Protect the hair from the sun. If you leave the hair unprotected it will also fade.
To protect the hair I wrap it up in aluminum foil and secure it with small pieces of tape.
This is the end result of taping and wrapping

Now you have to put your pony in front of a window when the sun is shining (you can also put her in the window when the sun doesn’t shine, but it will take much longer). Put her on mirror or piece of aluminum foil so the underside of the pony sun fades too.

Don’t forget to check her ones in a will to see if she is not sun burning and change her sides. I changed her ones a day.
